The Confucius Classroom Hub at Hawthornden Primary School in Scotland Officially Launched

The Confucius Classroom hub at Hawthornden Primary School in Scotland was officially launched on 19th June. Chinese deputy Consul General Mr. Zhang Limin attended the ceremony and delivered warm remarks.

 

Mr. Zhang encouraged the pupils to cultivate the interests in China from childhood and study hard to gain more knowledge about Chinese language, culture and history so as to play the role of links when growing up and contribute to the bilateral exchanges and cooperation between the two peoples. He hoped they will enjoy their life and studying in school and achieve success in future.

The event was also attended by Ms. Tian Li, Co-Director of Confucius Institute for Scotland's Schools (CISS), Ms. Lin Fan, Executive Director of CISS, Mr. Scott Lavey, Head teacher of Hawthornden Primary School and around 60 staff and pupils. During the ceremony, the students from the School gave a wonderful performance including programs of recitation, dragon-lion dance, fan dance and Kung Fu, highlighting the joy of learning Chinese language and culture in a lively and pleasant atmosphere.
