Consul General Pan Xinchun Attends Chinese Day of Culture at Winton Primary School

In celebration of the Chinese Lunar Year of Dog, the Chinese Day of Culture was held at Winton Primary School in North Ayrshire Council on 24th January, attended by Chinese Consul General Pan Xinchun, North Ayrshire Provost Ian Clarkson, school staff, pupils and parents as well as representatives from Chinese community.

   

Consul General Pan delivered warm remarks, introducing the friendly cooperation between Chinese and Scottish sides and saying the first such event at the School is of great significance, helping pupils gain more knowledge about China. He encouraged the pupils to learn mandarin and be an envoy to enhance friendship between China and the UK. Mr. Pan expressed his thanks to the Chinese Community and the School for organizing the event and extended best wishes for the coming Chinese lunar Year. He also had an interaction with the pupils on Chinese culture, further arousing their interests and affection in China.

   

On that day the School was decorated by Chinese flag, lanterns, painting and calligraphy. The pupils performed talk texts of Chinese Zodiac and sang Chinese songs, presenting their achievement and joy of leaning Chinese language and culture in a lively and pleasant atmosphere.
