Consul General Pan Attends Farewell Reception for Dr. Judith McClure
On September 20, Chinese Consul General Pan Xinchun attended farewell reception for Dr. Judith McClure CBE, founder and Chair of Scotland China Education Network (SCEN) at The Hub, Castlehill.
Consul General Pan paid tribute to Dr. Judith, describing her as a good friend of Chinese people and a pioneer in promoting Chinese language and culture. Under her strong leadership, SCEN grew into a well-established platform for learning Chinese language and culture, a window for understanding China, a bridge for building China-UK friendship, in contribution to the development of China-Scotland relationship. He encouraged SCEN to write a new chapter of China-UK relations.
Lord Wilson and other guests spoke highly of Dr. Judith's enormous contribution to the promotion of Chinese language and culture in Scotland and expressed that their willingness to follow in her steps to bring China-Scotland collaborations across various fields to a new high.
Founded in January 2006 to promote teaching and learning Chinese language in Scottish schools, SCEN supports relevant national agencies in their plans to introduce Chinese into the curriculum and provides a platform for learners to share their experience in Chinese learning.
