Consul General Ma Qiang Calls on Presiding Officer Macintosh

Mr. Ma Qiang, Chinese Consul General in Edinburgh, called on Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament Ken Macintosh MSP on Oct 30, 2019.

Consul General paid tribute to the effort made by the Scottish Parliament and Presiding Officer to enhance the close links between China and Scotland, bearing fruitful cooperative results. Mr. Ma encouraged the both sides to capitalize the platform of legislative exchanges to deepen the mutual understanding as well as cooperation.

Presiding Officer warmly welcomed CG to the Parliament. Mr. Macintosh was pleased to witness the robust growth of engagements between Scotland and China in education, culture and legislative bodies, which should be further promoted with joint efforts. He also briefed CG on the development of the Parliament and some of the hot topics like Brexit.
