Consul General Ma Qiang Attends CPG China December Online Meeting
On 2 December, Chinese Consul General Ma Qiang addressed the online meeting hosted by the Cross Party Group on China (CPG) at the Scottish Parliament. CPG China Convener Dean Lockhart MSP chaired the meeting. Deputy Convener Colin Smyth MSP and Provost of East Dunbartonshire, Alan Brown joined with other 20 group members.
Consul General talked about the outcome of the 5th Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and President Xi Jinping's attendance of the 12th BRICS Summit, the 27th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting and the 15th G20 Leaders' Summit, pointing out opportunities for the world to share China’s achievements in pursuing high-quality development.
Consul General recognized the strong and resilient China-Scotland relations amid COVID-19 and gave details of fruitful trading, educational and cultural connections between the two sides in 2020.
Dean Lockhart MSP welcomed progress for cooperation and exchanges across sectors. He pledged to contribute to further strengthen the links between Scotland and China.
