The Confucius Classroom Hub at St Mary Primary School in North Ayrshire Officially Launched
On May 18, the Confucius Classroom Hub at St Mary Primary School in North Ayrshire was officially launched. Chinese Consul General in Edinburgh, Mr. Pan Xinchun, attended the unveiling ceremony. The event was also attended by Mr. Ian Clarkson, Provost of North Ayrshire, Mr. Butcher, North Ayrshire Executive Director for Education and Youth Employment, Ms. Tian Li, Co-Director of Confucius Institute for Scotland's Schools (CISS), Ms. Lin Fan, Executive Director of CISS and representatives from the North Ayrshire Council and the school.
The Classroom was decorated with the traditional Chinese cultural features including Chinese flags, Chinese Knots and Chinese paintings on that day. During the ceremony, teachers and students from the School performed the musical The Dragon of the Western Sea which was greatly enjoyed by the whole audience.
Consul General Pan delivered warm remarks, speaking highly of the wonderful performance, extending congratulations to the official ribbon-cutting ceremony, and introducing the friendly relationship and collaborations between China and Scotland. He gave a compliment to the CISS and St Mary Primary for their hard work and contributions in promoting Chinese language and culture, encouraging students to acquire more knowledge about Chinese language, culture and history so as to play the role of links when growing up and contribute to the bilateral exchanges and cooperation between the two peoples. He also wished them further progress in learning and healthy growth.
